Dr. Mohammad-Ali Jenabian is an assistant professor in Immunology and Virology at the Department of Biological Sciences at the Université du Québec à Montréal.

He earned a PhD in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karaj in Iran before moving to France where he completed a second PhD, this time in virology, at the Université Pierre et Marie Currie in Paris. He followed his second PhD with a postdoctoral fellowship in fundamental immunology before moving to Canada where he embarked on another post-doctoral fellowship in clinical immunology at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre.

Dr. Jenabian was a CTN Postdoctoral Fellowships Award winner in 2012. His subsequent project looked at the impact of HIV infection and immunotherapy on CD4 T cell mucosal recovery and was supervised by Drs. Jean-Pierre Routy and Norbert Gilmore. His current research and interests spans the fields of virology, mucosal immunity, regulatory T cells immunology, HIV/AIDS transmission, inflammation, HIV immunotherapy, vaccine research, and immunoregulation.

Dr. Jenabian’s postdoctoral research led to CTN 246, a study he contributed to that looked at the effectiveness of a new treatment on CD4 T cell recovery. He is a prolific researcher and writer, having contributed to 12 CTN research publications since becoming a postdoctoral fellow.
