Dr. Sarah Khan is an assistant professor in the division of infectious diseases at McMaster University, and an associate medical director for infection prevention control for Hamilton Health Sciences. She was previously a postdoctorate-fellow with the CIHR Canadian HIV Trials Network, and her work examined infant feeding in HIV and risk of transmission in a Canadian context. Her research interests lie in infection control and antibiotic stewardship.
Dr. Khan received her medical doctorate from the University of Ottawa, and completed her post-graduate pediatric residency training at McMaster University. She also completed a Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children, and also earned a Diploma in Tropical Medicine with the Gorgas Memorial Institute in Lima, Peru. She is currently working on completing her Masters in health research methodology at McMaster University.
