Dr. Alain Piché is an associate professor in the Department of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Université de Sherbrooke.

He earned a Bachelor of Science at the Université Laval followed by a Master of Science in microbiology at the Université de Sherbrooke. He then went on to a medical degree from the Université Laval and postdoctoral training at the University of Alabama in the United States.

Dr. Piché’s main research interests are the study of ovarian cancer and the identification of new therapeutic targets and alternative treatments, the role of the tumor environment in ovarian cancer, and C difficile.

Dr. Piché is a co-investigator for CTN 247, which is looking at host and viral factors associated with HIV disease progression in long term HIV infected subjects for whom the disease is progressing more slowly than normal.
