Dr. Sandre is a practicing infectious disease specialist at Health Sciences North in Sudbury and an assistant professor with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. He also serves as the medical director of the Infection Control Program and the regional HIV Program in North Eastern Ontario. Dr. Sandre is the Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Health Sciences North, and is involved with several HIV clinical trials in Canada.

He completed his medical degree and internal medicine training at McMaster University and infectious disease training at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Sandre is a co-investigator for three CTN studies: CTN 286: TriiAdd Study, CTN 254: Inflammation as a predictor of HIV disease progression, and CTN 222: Canadian co-infection cohort. He has contributed to a CTN research publication discussing the results of CTN 222.
