Dr. Lesley Fellows is a professor in the Department of Neurology & Neurosurgery at McGill University. She is also the principal investigator in McGill’s Decision lab.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in physiology and a medical degree from McGill University. She also earned a PhD in neurophysiology from the University of Oxford and Balliol College in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Fellows is a neurologist and cognitive neuroscientist. Her main areas of study are decision-making and self-control in healthy people and in people with neurological disorders. She specializes in disorders of cognition, with a particular interest in the functions of the frontal lobes.
Dr. Fellows is the principal investigator for two CTN studies. The first is CTNPT 026, which is looking at brain imaging techniques to understand HIV-associated neurocognitive disorder. The second is CTN 273, which she is leading alongside Dr. Marie-José Brouillette. It seeks to understand the biological, psychological, and social factors that affect brain health, the impact of cognitive symptoms on function and quality of life, and their evolution over time.
