Dr. Giada Sebastiani

Dr. Giada Sebastiani is a professor in the Division of Gastroenterology of the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University and a scientist in the Infectious Diseases and Immunity in Global Health Program at the McGill University Health Centre.

She earned her medical degree at the University of Padova in Italy. She has completed fellowships at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in the United Kingdom, the University of Padova, and the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research in Montreal. She has also pursued specialization training in internal medicine at the University of Padova and completed a global training research program at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Sebastiani’s research focuses on screening for liver disease and fatty liver in at-risk populations, including people living with HIV, people with inflammatory bowel disease, and liver transplant recipients.

Dr. Sebastiani is the principal investigator for CTNPT 024, a pilot study exploring the use of non-invasive methods to diagnose non-alcoholic steatohepatitis in people living with HIV.
