CTN Investigator Dr. Mark Wainberg is an internationally renowned HIV researcher and AIDS activist. He is the Director of the McGill University AIDS Centre at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital and a Professor of Medicine and Microbiology. In the 1980s he was at the forefront of HIV antiretroviral research as one of the first to identify and develop the drug 3TC as an antiretroviral treatment for HIV. From his lab in Montreal, he continues to be a leader in Canada focusing on HIV eradication and drug resistance. In this video, Dr. Wainberg charts out the future of HIV research as he sees it and lays out his hopes for a cure.
